As the demand for shelter grows in developing regions, many turn to quick solutions like concrete structures. Shillong, India, faces the same issue. However, the global sustainability crisis is reviving interest in indigenous timber construction. A 6-story timber building has been created using local timber, addressing urban Shillong’s needs and seismic challenges. This design, adapted to modern technology, is available as a digital tool for local designers, promoting ecological solutions. The Exhibit aims to promote the Hybrid Timber Construction methodology by showcasing a 1:6 model of the structure system.
